COMMISSIONS / CASE STUDIES
On average, the entire project takes around six weeks. The sculpting stage takes anywhere between two to three weeks, dependant upon the availability of the subject to attend sittings.
Whilst Gillie will take countless digital images and measurements, having her subject sat beside her as she works aids the creative process enormously, allowing her to capture personality, mood and being. If circumstances demand, it may be possible that Gillie could work solely from photographs.
Once sculpting is complete, a further two weeks on pre-firing prep is required, The sculpture is fired at 1100 degrees centigrade. It is then presented on a steel and hardwood mount.
