COMMISSIONS
On average, the entire project takes around six weeks. The sculpting stage takes anywhere between two to three weeks, dependant upon the availability of the subject to attend sittings.
In exceptional circumstances it may be possible for Gillie to work solely from photographs. But actual sittings are key to truly capture personality and a good likeness.
Once completed the sculpture is then fired to 1100 degrees centigrade and mounted on a steel and hardwood plinth.
Every sculpture is unique, meaning that prices do vary but as a guide, sculptures cost between £1,500 - £3,500.

TIM HENSHALL
Known for his sense of humour and constant laugher Gillie chose to redo the face with Tim in smiling mode - far more inkeeping with his personality. Tim was delighted with this change, as well as the end result.
ROBIN TRENBATH
Phil Trenbath commissioned a sculpture of his son, Robin. who was set to move 5,000 miles away to Columbia. Delighted with the result, the bust has prominence in Phil's home, so that he doesn't miss his son quite as much as he would otherwise.
Such a tremendously talented and creative person, Gillie has succeeded in capturing the essence of Robin resulting in a piece that brings me pleasure every day”.

IAN KETTLEWELL
Windmill Antiques owner Ian Kettlewell, recently commissioned Gillie to complete a clay portrait of himself using the process used by famous artist Arnold Machin.
To all those people who are toying with the idea of having your likeness reproduced in clay, here are my thoughts on the experience of having it done. To start with , I should say that Gillyie is talented, empathetic , and a a joy to be around. The whole experience of having a sculpture made is quite surprising, educational and intimate . You have to trust the sculptor to produce an honest representation that isn’t over critical or too flattering. Gillie gets this balance just right.. the process will question your idea of your self and your identity and I can only encourage anyone to take the risk and see yourself warts and all. I am delighted with the finished work of art . It will hopefully out live me and any digital footprint and bring laughter , joy, fond memories to those in the future. It should not be seen as anything as shallow as a vanity project.. after all you don’t feel that when somebody takes your photograph. I loved the process and love the result. Ian Kettlewell

Gillie's work is simply outstanding. Not only does the sculpture look just like me, the way she has captured my spirit and personality is just incredible. It was a delight to sit and watch a professional at work,
