Guitar maker to the stars, captured in clay

Gillie Nicholls has just unveiled her 57th sculpture, which captures Doug Wilkes, renowned guitar builder and fine singer..

This piece was made specifically for the upcoming Brampton Exhibition, with their theme being that the work responds to the other exhibits on show, or at the heart of the museum itself.

This sculpture will sit in the reconstructed living room of Newcastle Draper, Ralph Moseley and mirror the period practice of displaying busts.

Doug, very much a 'Stokie', and the guitar he personally created for Pink Floyd's Dave Gilmour recently sold at auction for £75,000.
